Under the "My Log" feature, appeared this short review of the first MECCANO Trade Fair.
'Games and Toys' article, March, 1960

The text is as follows : -

"Another Trade Fair which also opened on 19 February was the first Meccano Fair. It was held at the Grosvenor Hotel, Victoria, London. As always, I was fascinated by the working models, which included Blackpool and Eiffel Towers, a working model building site and a fun fair in full swing."
"There were, of course, layouts of the famous Hornby Dublo miniature railway system, always a centre of attention, and reintroduced this year were the Hornby speedboats – three in number. They have hulls manufactured in high-impact polystyrene and are powered by powerful clockwork mechanisms. Since the takeover by Meccano of Plimpton’s, the original manufacturers, Bayko building outfits have been much improved and are now offered in new colours and presentations. There are four basic outfits and three conversion sets at present, and I understand that prices have been considerably reduced for the new range."
